Ms. Nevins received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Superior in 1993. She is licensed by the National Board of Certified Counselors.
Following graduate school, Ms. Nevins joined Bay Area Mental Health Center where she provided group and individual psychotherapy. During that time, she was trained in testing and assessments, the treatment for co-occurring disorders, and severe character pathology. Ms. Nevins served as the Vice President of the Board of Directors, was a member of the Ashland and Bayfield County Domestic Violence Task Force Committee, and was a psychology instructor at the undergraduate level. She later took a position with Howard Young Medical Center-Ministry Health Care providing outpatient services for individual, couples and families. While with the medical center, she assisted in the development of Northwood’s Women’s Health Center, a specialty clinic which provided multidisciplinary medical and mental health services for women of all stages of life. Ms. Nevins has also provided outpatient psychotherapy services through a local nonprofit agency prior to co-founding Midwest Psychological Services (MPS) with her husband in 2006. She served as Director of Operations until 2017 and then as clinical supervisor and consultant for MPS until May 2020.
Ms. Nevins provides diagnostic assessment and treatment for adults, adolescents, couples, and families. She specializes in the treatment for abuse and trauma, personal life crisis, depression and other mood disorders, attention-deficit/
